Building Churches Institute for Leadership Pipelines

Building Churches strengthens the future of the Church by developing leadership pipelines, equipping leaders, and aligning the systems that move people from calling to placement.

Why This Matters Now

The Church is in a season of leadership transition.

  • Thousands of pastors are approaching retirement
  • Leadership pipelines are inconsistent or undefined
  • Non-denominational churches continue to grow without formal systems for developing and placing leaders

At the same time, a new generation of leaders is emerging—prepared, called, and ready to serve.

Yet many do not reach positions of senior leadership.

  • This is not a lack of calling.
  • It is not a lack of preparation.
  • It is a lack of aligned systems connecting formation, sponsorship, and placement.

The future of the Church depends on addressing this gap now.

Our Mission

Building Churches strengthens the future of the Church by developing leadership pipelines, equipping leaders, and aligning systems that sustain healthy, growing congregations.

Our Framework
(FSP Model)

How Leadership Actually Develops

Formation → Sponsorship → Placement

Formation

Seminary training, theological grounding, and leadership preparation.

Sponsorship

Mentoring, advocacy, and leaders who open doors to opportunity.

Placement

Access to real leadership roles within churches and ministry contexts.

When these three are not aligned, leadership pipelines break down.

Our Current Focus

Women in Senior Pastoral Leadership

Building Churches is currently leading a national initiative to address one of the most urgent leadership challenges facing the Church today:

The gap between theological preparation and senior pastoral placement for women in non-denominational churches.

Through the 12×12 Women in Senior Pastoral Leadership Pipeline Initiative, we are working with seminaries, ministry leaders, and churches to strengthen mentoring, sponsorship, and placement systems.
